Case 2 History ---- The patient was a 45 year old male who has had muscle weakness since early childhood, which had become more progressive within the last 10 years involving proximal muscles and resulting in the patient being wheelchair-bound. He received the diagnosis of acid maltase deficiency after it was suggested by an EMG and then made definitive by a gastrocnemius muscle biopsy.
