17A1 Wernicke Syndrome (Case 17) Yellow _3
At autopsy the brain weighed 1150 grams. ---- 17A1,2 Coronal sections of the cerebral hemispheres confirm the surface impression of a large left MCA infarction and also reveal similar changes and softening in bilateral PCA territories and involving the right insula. Associated with the right insular infarct is subarachnoid hemorrhage along the right Sylvian fissure. The mammillary bodies show modest discoloration and mild fine granularity.
