In this case the pituitary appears to have two different densities, the posterior portion (arrowhead) which is comparable to CSF (in this T2-weighted MRI with no contrast) and an anterior portion (arrow) comparable to intensity to adjacent cortical gray matter (T2 MRI without contrast)
