Case 4 History The patient had trans-sphenoidal surgery for Cushing's disease and had undetectable AM cortisols in the hospital afterward. Pathology showed no adenoma although there was generalized ACTH staining of many cells. Lymphocytic hypophysitis was present. She also had diabetes insipidus and syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion. Thyroid function tests done showed central hypothyroidism but normal serum sodium levels. The patient exhibited polyuria and polydipsia.
