One large collection of amorphous material resembles colloid (arrows) and is admixed with residual necrotic debris. Although this may represent colloid as might be expected in a Rathke’s cleft cyst, it also resembles extraneous surgical material with its linear margins. The lack of significant reaction to the material at its margins makes the distinction problematic (H&E), .
