The round and small vacuoles and aggregates also stain prominently for caveolin-3, which is a true sarcolemmal protein, i.e., an intrinsic structural or functional component of the muscle plasma membrane. Other sarcolemmal proteins are dystrophin and the sarcoglycans. (Caveolin-3 IHC)
