11Q1-3 In a muscle biopsy merosin (aka Laminin α2 or Laminin-2) is an extracellular matrix protein essential for structural integrity. In a healthy muscle biopsy, the stain outlines the basal lamina at the edge of single muscle fiber. In this case merosin immunoreactivity extensively labels the sarcolemma but also small and large vacuoles within the sarcoplasm. (Merosin IHC)
