2A1 Autophagic Myopathy (Case 2) H&E 40X 3
Case 2 History ---- The patient is a six year old girl with rapidly progressing motor weakness. She had a normal early development and has had recent decline in stair climbing ability with the use of her arms to pull up steps. She has had EMG\Nerve Conduction and laboratory studies consistent with a myopathic over a neuropathic process. Operative procedure: Left vastus lateralis muscle biopsy. ---- 2A1,2 The H&E appearance in this case shows significant variation in muscle fiber diameter. A number of fibers appear to contain granular debris. (H&E)
