Washington University Experience | MUSCLE | Hydroxychloroquine myopathy | 1A0 Case 1 History
Case 1 History ---- The patient was a 61 year old female with systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis (on Rituxan/prednisone), moderate to severe aortic stenosis, and a history of hydroxychloroquine usage. She presented with acute systolic heart failure (shortness of breath and peripheral edema) accompanied by a new decrease in LV systolic function (LVEF 29%). She was referred for right and left heart catheterization, selective coronary angiography, and an endomyocardial biopsy to determine the etiology of the patient's recent worsening symptomatology.
