Case 1 History ---- The patient is a 19 year old man with shoulder weakness. Operative procedure: Left triceps muscle biopsy. Thanks to Drs Bob Bucelli and Alan Pestronk for use of their histochemically stained frozen section material. ---- 1A1,2 H&E stain of frozen sectioned material shows numerous muscle fibers with central regions containing magenta staining material. These are often irregular, of small or large shapes and may have individual linear cracks. (H&E)
