Case 15 History (Thanks Dr. Chunyu (Hunter) Cai) ---- The patient is a 40 year old woman with fibromyalgia with increased pain and falls. An EMG was normal and a myositis panel shows a positive antibody. Operative procedure: Right deltoid muscle biopsy. ---- 15A1-3 There are numerous fibers with patchy aggregates of mitochondria and lipid droplets with admixed glycogen. The mitochondria in these locations also show changes to the normal pattern of cristae. (electron micrographs)
