Case 2 History ---- The patient is a five year old girl with an undiagnosed neuromuscular disorder previously thought to be myasthenia gravis. Clinical diagnosis: Strabismus, undiagnosed muscular disorder. Procedure: Deltoid muscle biopsy. ---- One micron thick toluidine blue stained sections of the plastic embedded tissue showed patchy, subsarcolemmal dark bands. ----2A1-3 Ultrastructural studies of the muscle biopsy show an overall increase in the size and number of mitochondria.
