Higher magnification of image #34A3 (electron micrographs) ---- Not shown: SDH stain shows disrupted distribution with subsarcolemmal accentuation in some fibers. Only a rare COX negative fiber is seen on cytochrome oxidase stain, otherwise there is similar distribution of COX as for SDH, with subsarcolemmal concentration. Modified Gomori trichrome shows scattered ragged red fibers and also highlights rare-rimmed vacuoles.
