In the deltoid muscle there were smaller collections of subsarcolemmal mitochondria, lesser changes in shapes, fewer coarse cristae and lesser amounts of lipid droplets. A few rare distorted sarcomeres separated by granular material were demonstrated. (electron micrograph)
