37A 1,2 Muscle, left Trapezius: H&E shows variation in muscle fiber size and a few collections of endomysial mononuclear cells, some replacing muscle fibers. Mildly abnormal muscle with rare endomysial mononuclear cells replacing muscle fibers. There is no storage material on PAS or Sudan. Cytochrome oxidase and SDH are normal. Mildly abnormal muscle with rare endomysial mononuclear cells replacing muscle fibers. ----37A1Ultrastructural examination shows a number of atrophic muscle fibers with formation of disorganized sarcomeres but minimal abnormality of small individual normal appearing mitochondria. There are small collections of endomysial mononuclear cells, some replacing muscle fibers.
