11A0 Case 11 History
Case 11 History ---- The patient is a 47 year old man with approximately nine weeks of abnormalities involving the right upper extremity, beginning with a three day period of paresthesias which progressed to weakness occurring below the level of the elbow. MR imaging shows a peripherally enhancing approximately 2 cm cystic lesion, centered to the left motor strip with surrounding perilesional edema. The differential diagnosis in this patient was glioma, metastasis, or, less likely, abscess. A CT scan of the chest, abdomen and pelvic shows no evidence of primary malignancy.
