3A0 Case 3 History
Case 3 History ---- The patient is a 53 year old man with hypertension, congestive heart failure, diabetes, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, chronic kidney disease stage IV, right below knee amputation and left toe amputation. Workup at an outside hospital showed a non-enhancing right parietal brain mass which was T1 hypointense and T2/FLAIR hyperintense, is surrounded by FLAIR signal of relatively lower intensity, and shows no increased signal in post-contrast images. The clinical differential diagnoses were thought broad, and would include demyelinating processes, specifically tumefactive MS, as well as neoplastic disease. The mass was biopsied at the referring institution and the material provided in consultation with our institution.
