Case 2 History ---- The patient was a 42-year-old woman with a 12 year history of chronic progressive multiple sclerosis and was wheelchair bound for the last 4 years of her life. The patient was found unresponsive at home without respirations and pulse after brief symptomatic shortness of breath. Resuscitation was initiated, but was unsuccessful. General autopsy demonstrated numerous pulmonary thromboemboli.
