3B4-6 Higher magnification (10X) images of the ventral pontine plaque stained with H&E (3B4), for myelin (LFB-PAS, 3B5) and for axons (Bielschowsky, 3B6). The plaque contains area of descending (arrowheads, 3B6) and transverse (arrow, 3B6) fibers as well as neurons, all of which appear well maintained.
