5D2,3 U fiber sparing is shown at low and high magnifications. The U fibers contain normally preserved oligodendrocytes in the absence of macrophages and inflammation. Higher magnification (5D2) shows a sharp border with demyelinated white matter which contains a hypocellular collection of astrocytes (H&E)
