1D1,2 Whole mount of one of the occipital plaques shows a distinct difference between the most lateral aspect (arrow) and the periventricular area (arrowhead). An adjacent section stained for myelin (LFB-PAS (1D2)) shows both areas are significantly and comparably devoid of myelin.
