10A-C This whole mount of the optic nerves, chiasm and floor of the 3rd ventricle is stained with H&E (10A1), LFB-PAS (10B1,2) and Bielschowsky (10C1,2). Axonal preservation is seen in demyelinated plaques in the optic nerve but there is clearly some axon loss. This H&E whole mount shows at most scattered areas of pallor.
