As expected in a demyelinating lesion the dorsal column lesion shows a significant degree of axonal preservation (arrow). The two areas of myelin loss in the area of the lateral corticospinal tract show loss of axons bilaterally (arrowheads) as expected in tract degeneration caused by the significant loss of tissue in the cervical cord (see #4F).
