Washington University Experience | MYELIN (IMMUNE-MEDIATED) | MS - Tumefactive | 2A0 Case 2 History
Case 2 History ---- The patient is a 30 year old woman with a 3-5 year history of migraines which had worsened to a several month history of eye twitching and throbbing right sided headaches. She was seen the ER twice for headache and, as part of that workup, a CT showed a possible lesion in the right occipital/temporal lobes; subsequent MRI revealed an expansile mass lesion in the right occipital lobe. She underwent further workup including CSF analysis without demonstrating oligoclonal bands. She received 2 days of IV steroids during her hospital admission. She underwent cervical and thoracic spine MRI which failed to show lesions. She was seen by an outside institution in consultation out without knowledge of the biopsy result who were concerned about aggressive glioma vs. lymphoma.
