Washington University Experience | MYELIN (IMMUNE-MEDIATED) | MS - Tumefactive | 3A0 Case 3 - History
Case 3 History ---- The patient is a 23-year-old man who presented early in November 2018 with a three-week history of decreased word finding ability and mental status changes. Brain MRI revealed a large (~7 x 6 x 5 cm) left frontal lobe mass with edema and contrast enhancement restricted to an incomplete, thick, irregular rim. He underwent a left frontal craniotomy for subtotal resection of the presumed neoplasm and was diagnosed with a ganglioglioma. The patient was referred to our hospital for neuro-oncologic treatment and the correct diagnosis determined in routine review of the slides and additional immunohistologic investigation.
