This whole mount stained for myelin with LFB-PAS shows absence in the regions of pallor with macrophage infiltration, seen better at higher magnification in 1D2. Notice that numerous macrophages in the demyelinated focus contain pink stained material representing engulfed and partly metabolized myelin (LFB-PAS)
