3B10-12 Highest magnification shows pallor and numerous foamy macrophages (3B10, H&E), loss of myelin (although the loss is not complete and some macrophages contain blue-green myelin debris, LFB-PAS). The axonal population in the demyelinative region does show relative preservation of axons but also contains a large number of axonal spheroids (arrows, 3B12) evidence of axonal damage
