Washington University Experience | MYELIN (IMMUNE-MEDIATED) | Sentinel & Steroid Rx Lesions | 3G0 Case 3 - History & Second biopsy (images #3G-J)
The second, definitive stereotactic needle biopsy (December, same year) performed on this patient showed malignant cells which were consistent with malignant large B cell lymphoma, non-germinal center phenotype. Due to the abundance of necrosis, an in situ hybridization for EBER was also performed and was found to be negative; necrosis in this case was thought to be a treatment-related change in the setting of high-dose steroids.
