Higher magnification image shows astrocytes with eosinophilic granules in a perinuclear distribution (arrow) and scattered in processes (arrowheads). Also notice the large Creutzfeldt astrocyte with its numerous micronuclei which occasionally are difficult to separate from granular mitotic figures which are also found. (H&E)
