Sections of the white matter show numerous cells with the histologic appearance of astrocytes within the gray and white matter, seen at higher magnification in 1C3. The hyaline material is organized into very small droplets and aggregates in subcortical large glassy astrocytes as well as in small intracortical glia which satellite cortical neurons. (H&E)
