5A1,2 Her unfixed brain weighed 1100 gm. The cerebral cortex is well preserved but the white matter contains numerous infarcts, some with evidence of old hemorrhage. There is prominent hydrocephalus ex vacuo. Multiple old infarcts with cystic degeneration range in size from 0.3 cm to 0.6 cm are noted in the white matter of both cerebral hemispheres.
