6B1-3 This whole mount of the cortex and subcortical white matter is shown stained routinely with H&E (6B1), for myelin (6B2, LFB-PAS) and with PAS (6B3) There is significant pallor in the white matter, corresponding to areas lacking myelin. Although PAS stained material is prominent at higher magnification, it is difficult to appreciate the degree of involvement at this magnification.
