Case 6 History ---- The patient is a 67-year-old man with a history of colon carcinoma metastatic to the brain treated with radiation therapy using the gamma knife, who developed progressive enhancement and edema at the post resection site. Clinical impression: Recurrence versus radiation necrosis. Operative procedure: Right temporal craniotomy for resection of the enhancing mass. No neoplasm was found in any part of the specimen.
