Case 2 History ---- The patient was a 31 year old woman with a history of a poorly characterized drug overdose with subsequent severe hypoxic encephalopathy for which she was placed in a nursing home. It is unclear whether or how much of a lucid interval she had. A feeding tube was placed. Six to eight weeks later she was found pulseless, apneic, and unresponsive in the nursing home one morning and transported to the BJH Emergency Department via EMS. The patient remained pulseless despite repeated doses of epinephrine and passed away.
