2B1-5 This whole mount of cerebral cortex and underlying white matter is shown stained routinely with H&E (2B1) and for myelin (LFB-PAS, 2B2), axons (Bielschowsky, 2B3), macrophages and microglia (CD68, 2B4) and astrocytes (GFAP, 2B5). Myelin and axons are lost together; thus this is myelinopathy but not demyelination.
