1C1,2 Low magnification of the cerebral cortex (compare with 1B1,2) stained for myelin shows the gray white junction with nearly complete loss of deep myelin and, again, sparing of the U-fibers. The hypercellularity of the white matter is again seen resulting from purple macrophages and light blue astrocytes (LFB-PAS)
