Washington University Experience | MYELIN (NON-IMMUNE MEDIATED) | Necrotizing Leukoencephalopathy | 1B3A DNL (Case 1) H&E 3
1B3A-C Highest magnification of the series of images of the basis pontis from 1B1A-C shows foci of DNL involving the basis pontis stained routinely (H&E, 1B3A), for myelin (LFB-PAS, 1B3B) and axons (Bielschowsky, 1B3C). Lesions involve white matter in the striate pons in which myelin is lost with a significant degree of axon loss. Notice again that the individual lesions are not inflammatory.
