1C1-4 White matter collections of pigment containing cells. These cells are often designated pigmented glia but the precise cellular location of pigment is often more difficult to appreciate in individual cases than more substantive collections in macrophage-like cells (arrow, 1C1) which may represent the secondary accumulation of pigment as primary pigmented cells die.
