Case 15 History ---- The patient is a 21 year old woman with a cystic lesion in the hypothalamus. Operative procedure: Brain biopsy. ---- 15A1-3 The tumor is characterized by multiple fragments of squamous epithelium with peripheral palisading. Many clusters of wet keratin are also noted. The surrounding cerebral parenchyma is markedly gliotic with Rosenthal fibers and occasional hemosiderin-laden macrophages.
