17A4-6 Histological sections show multiple fragments of a partially cystic neoplasm which exhibits several characteristic histological features, including: an epithelial component with basal nuclear palisading and rarified areas ('stellate reticulum'); 'wet' keratin; and dystrophic calcifications. Small amounts of associated non-neoplastic brain parenchyma show marked piloid gliosis.
