4A1 Granule Cell Tumor (Case 4) H&E 2X 2 copy
Case 4 History ---- The patient was a 46 year-old female with history of type 2 diabetes, morbid obesity, and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) cirrhosis. She presented to an outside hospital with worsening abdominal distension and pain. She underwent a large volume paracentesis twice, the second time was stopped due to the development of hypotension. She was transferred to BJH with septic shock secondary to spontaneous bacterial peritonitis and worsening hepatorenal syndrome. A CT on 12/26 was concerning for bowel perforation. The patient was not a surgical candidate due to multiorgan failure. She was eventually extubated and pressors were discontinued. ---- 4A1 A whole mount of the adenohypophysis and neurohypophysis shows an incidental GCT (arrowhead) within the neurohypophysis (H&E)
