Case 22 History ---- [65yo male with Cushing syndrome and a pituitary adenoma. Operative procedure: IMRI endoscopic transsphenoidal hypophysectomy.] ---- 22A Sections of the nests and islands of relatively monomorphic tumor cells interrupted by a delicate capillary network. The Crooke’s hyaline change shown appears to be in nests of non-neoplastic basophils; however, this histologic change was not thought to involve a majority of tumor cells. ---- Not shown: ACTH is positive in the tumor cells. The tumor is strongly and diffusely positive for CAM5.2, but mostly homogenous cytoplasmic staining and not the concentric pattern of Crooke's hyaline change. Ki67 is positive in 2.4% of tumor cells.
