These spherical perinuclear cytoplasmic inclusions are positive for pan-cytokeratin, consistent with "fibrous bodies." ---- Not shown: Reactivity for the proliferation marker Ki67 ranged focally up to 3.7%. Reactivity for p53 shows nuclear reactivity ranging from weak to strong in a subset of cells. ---- Comment: Given the laboratory finding of elevated serum GH and IGF-1 and the histological/immunohistochemical observation of growth hormone and fibrous bodies, this tumor is consistent with a somatotroph adenoma.
