The tumor cells are negative for neurofilament protein. There is patchy tumoral immunoreactivity for EMA and SMA. FISH was performed on submitted paraffin imbedded tissue utilizing probes against BCR and NF2. A deletion involving 22q was identified in tumor nuclei.
