Ultrastructural examination shows rhabdoid cells have collections of filaments, a typical finding in AT/RT. ---- Ancillary studies (not shown): Immunohistochemically, the tumor shows diffuse, strong positive reactivity for vimentin, and multifocal positive reactivity for muscle specific actin, epithelial membrane antigen protein, S-100, O13, and cytokeratin. The stains for glial fibrillary acid protein (GFAP) and synaptophysin are negative. The histological and immunohistochemical features are those of an atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor.
