The tumor extends into the right brainstem through the cerebral peduncle and corticospinal tracts and forms mass lesions in the ventral midbrain and pons. In the dorsal midbrain and pons, the tumor cells can be seen infiltrating via the perivascular Virchow-Robin spaces. In addition, corticospinal tract degeneration is evident in the medullary pyramid.
