2B1-4 Sections of the resected enhancing midline cerebellar mass show a malignant small round blue cell tumor. Cells are arranged in variably sized sheets separated by fibrovascular divisions with pale nodules. Neoplastic cells have little cytoplasm and relatively uniform, round nuclei with clumped unevenly distributed chromatin, focal molding, conspicuous mitotic activity, apoptotic bodies and small nucleoli. The pale islands have more mature appearing neurocytes, fewer mitoses and primitive cells.
