3A2-6 The neoplasm is composed of two histologic patterns. One is composed small, atypical cells with elongated nuclei, inconspicuous nucleoli, and a coarse chromatin pattern. They have inconspicuous cytoplasm and show high mitotic activity as well as a large amount of apoptotic debris. The second pattern consists of round nuclei with relative stippling of chromatin, in a loose, neuropil-like background, forming round and elliptical islands, indicating neuronal differentiation.
