The intranodular areas are composed of streams of a fairly uniform population of small, immature cells with round nuclei arranged in a fibrillary, reticulin-poor background. The internodular, reticulin-rich areas, are composed of cells with much more atypical, hyperchromatic nuclei and show markedly elevated mitotic activity as well as scattered karyorrhectic debris.
