Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (EMBRYONAL) | Medulloblastoma, Histologically Defined | Large cell-Anaplastic (LCA) | 9B1 Medulloblastoma, LCA (Case 9) 1
9B1-4 Sections of the cerebellar mass show a hypercellular neoplasm consisting of cells with large hyperchromatic nuclei and scant to moderate amounts of cytoplasm. They are arranged predominantly in sheets, with a vaguely nodular pattern. In areas the cells are arranged in trabeculae and form perivascular pseudorosette-like structures. There are scattered cells with large pleomorphic nuclei and multinucleated giant cells. There is some nuclear overlapping and cellular wrapping in these areas. Mitoses are easily identified and there are several pockets of necrosis.
